New UniChem Managing Director
UniChem Ltd is pleased to announce that David Coles
has been promoted to the newly created position of Director of Business
Development for Alliance Healthcare, the Wholesale and
Commercial Affairs Division of Alliance Boots. During his time at
UniChem over the past four years, David has led the business positively through
some of its most exciting years of transformation, ensuring that it has
remained at the cutting edge of industry developments. David will continue to
work with UniChem on a pan-European basis.
We are delighted to announce that Terry Scicluna, currently
Chief Operating Officer at Alliance Pharmacy, will succeed David as Managing
Director of UniChem.
Terry has worked for Alliance Pharmacy for four years and has been responsible
for ensuring successful operations of the Alliance Pharmacy branches, as well
as Scholl retail operations in the UK. He brings significant experience and
understanding of the pharmaceutical sector to his new role. Prior to joining
Alliance Pharmacy, Terry spent 21 years at Thorn EMI in a variety of positions
including Marketing Director, Sales and Operations Director, and ultimately,
Managing Director of Thorn UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Terry said: “I am really excited at the prospect
of joining UniChem. The recent dynamic developments in the pharmaceutical
wholesaling industry, coupled with the real passion that I have for community
pharmacy, will allow me to continue to utilise my experience in driving the
pharmaceutical agenda forward. I am looking forward to working with the teams
at UniChem, who not only show great commitment and enthusiasm, but have also
been key to the success of the business throughout a significant period of
evolution. In particular, helping UniChem to maintain its industry-leading
service and further develop its unparalleled support for the independent
pharmacy sector as the profession continues to evolve.”
In order to ensure a seamless transition, David will assume a supporting role
during a significant handover period. Terry will officially take up full
responsibility as of 1 January 2008.
