OFT Announces Market Study into the Distribution of Medicines in the UK

The Board of UniChem welcomes the announcement made by the Office of Fair Trading today of its intention to carry out a market study into the distribution of medicines in the UK. UniChem will be co-operating fully with the OFT throughout this process.

As Pfizer’s appointed logistics service provider, UniChem will continue to deliver Pfizer prescription medicines to all pharmacists, dispensing doctors and hospitals across the UK in accordance with Pfizer’s new Direct to Pharmacy arrangements. It is pleased to report that it has maintained service levels in excess of 99% following the launch of the new distribution model in March 2007. UniChem remains confident in its ability to continue to ensure the continuous and adequate supply of legitimate Pfizer prescription medicines to patients.
